“The Maltings Berwick…..By the time the cast of ‘Time Of Your Life’ took to the stage, the atmosphere was at fever pitch and the audience were pumped up for a night of singing and dancing in the aisles. First song out of the traps was “Yes”, a big favourite from the film. This song set the tone for the night and the show’s girls Karen, Lisa and Bethan got things off to a cracking start. But it was the arrival of the male eye candy that got the predominantly female audience whipped into a suitable frenzy when they performed “Overload”. Other classics “Be My Baby” and “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” followed and even when Andy, the show’s Johnny, performed “She’s Like The Wind”, the Patrick Swayze classic was brought bang up to date with a dance break that included Lady GaGa’s “Just Dance”. Another modern twist saw the inclusion of Gabriella Cilmi’s “On A Mission”, which slotted in perfectly with it’s 1980s sound. Having seen the West End version of “Dirty Dancing” and being disappointed that a lot of the show was performed to a backing track, it was great to see the soundtrack brought to life with live vocals. The likes of “Hungry Eyes” and “Do You Love Me” were particular highlights for me and the audience’s applause for the famous lift at the end and their joining in with an encore of “Yes” spoke volumes”.
